Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is a American TV chef and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and her pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals straightforward, simple techniques to master for home cooks on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell also worked at some of New York's top eateries, been studying Italian food, its culture and traditions and has participated in Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell developed a passion of cooking and food from a young age. After earning an English and Communication diploma at Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her passion for the restaurant business by enrolling as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. I loved every minute that I was a student at The Culinary Institute of America she declares. I couldn't be more educated or accomplished in my studies. After graduating, chef Burrell lived in Italy for a whole year attending classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. She also worked in La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin starred restaurant) located in Tuscany. It was during this time that her experience in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate the Italian tradition and philosophy, and this has left an impact on her own perception of food. Burrell has been a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to improve the lives of children who face problems. She is also a Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador who promotes education about juvenile diabetes. She has been a frequent to speak at conferences and tours throughout the United States as part of her mentorship job. In her journey to culinary excellence, Anne has often said that I am very fortunate to share what I love most to others.
